Extra options on checkout page (e.g. wrapping paper for additional costs)
It would be really great if there would be an option on the checkout page where customers can chose an option with additional costs like wrapping paper. To make it more perfect a nice 'hover over' which would show an image of that wrapping paper would be fantastic.
Who's with me?
Ofcourse there is the product add-ons plugin which does this perfectly, only thing is that i think these 'extra options'/'add-ons' should be on the checkout page, NOT on the product page.
Searched for a while and contacted some people (including the ninja's) for a solution for this problem but couldn't find it so here it is.
Hi everyone,
Our Checkout Add-ons extension can add this feature. :)

You can add additional options to the Checkout page with an existing plugin, the Checkout Field Editor
I've used this to add a gift wrapping option and made it a required field. And added additional fields to complete if it's a gift.
Is this a gift? *

This is a good idea. Adding gift wrap using the global custom add-ons works but I'd rather the customers have the option to add these in checkout.

I couldn't agree more! As I buy gifts online for relatives overseas, and obviously CANNOT gift-wrap the item, or attach a gift-card (with a personal message on it) myself. Which means the gift arrives in a plain wrapper, with no message.
The lack of a seller's (hugely) low-cost (preferably "built-in") gift-wrap (and personalized gift-tag) option or service (on, e.g., Amazon) is a real bone of contention for me. And, as such, I believe this option or service ought to be obligatory (on the seller's part). Excellent point!
